- Clean the (Chesapeake) Bay Day is a fun, hands-on way to be part of the solution for a clean Bay and clean rivers and streams. Who should volunteer? Everyone! Clean the Bay Day is full of real people, making a visible difference in the Chesapeake Bay. It’s a great way for families, communities, and boaters to get involved. Can children under 18 years old participate? Volunteers under 18 years of age are required to have a parental permission form signed by a parent/guardian if a parent/guardian is not volunteering with their child on Clean the Bay Day. The signed form must be given to the adult designated to supervise the child for the day. The designated adult must turn the form over to the site Zone Captain on the day of the event.
